Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in His matchless Name!
Hi there! It’s me again and I am still above ground. (It’s not what I prefer, because I want to go see the Lord and my wife Shirley, whom I miss every day. Obviously, the Lord has other plans, but no doubt coming soon.)
I will make this Fedena Flyer a bit more brief due to a couple factors. First, I am having more severe breathing issues*, and then my son Dan and his wife Amy are on their way over to visit with me. I don’t get to see them as often as I would prefer, even though we live close. But they provide meals regularly, even weekly, for me. I would no doubt starve without their help. (I don’t cook and am too old and stubborn to learn!) Although occasionally I do get meals from a couple of ladies from my church home (Straightway Baptist in Lawrenceville, NJ) and also from Mr. & Mrs. Bob and Janice Daubert from Faith Baptist Church in Fairless Hills, PA where I pastored for 31 years. True friends indeed. Matthew 5:16, Proverbs 18:24
*About the breathing issues…they seem to be getting worse. Last week I was preaching in the Cape May, NJ area for Pastor (and nephew) Jeff McLeod and his great family, church and people. (The church was full on Sun. AM and comfortably so on Sun. PM as well. One lady came forward for salvation and several believers came as well. It was a good day! Sun. PM was a more devotional message about Who Jesus really is, called “The Real Super Man”. The pastor is in a series called “Be Strong” and I tried to conform to that theme.) I took my inhaler with me but when I returned home after 5 days (they insisted I stay with them), I couldn’t locate it. The day after returning I had an exceptionally bad day and couldn’t breathe normally at all. In fact, it was so bad I had to lie down and struggled a lot. It didn’t let up all that day. Thankfully, the next morning it was somewhat better. I have been going to rehab 3 days per week, but nothing seems to really help. Just OLD AGE, I guess!
Lord willing, on May 16 I will be flying to Florida, due to the generosity of my grandchildren down in Pensacola. If this becomes a reality, I plan to stay for 2 weeks. While there I will go to my great granddaughter’s High School graduation from Pensacola Christian Academy. Amelia is my grandson’s (Paul and his wife, Sarah Lefevers) daughter and she will be heading to Pensacola Christian College in the fall. Also, I will witness two other graduations, Andrew and Stephani’s daughter Hannah and Jason and Sara’s son Chase, both finishing kindergarten. Finally on the 28th I will be celebrating my 89th birthday. I will be staying with my daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jerry, and Crystal cooks all my favorite meals when I go there. She is a great cook. (They are both having health issues, and would appreciate your prayers.) Stephani and Andrew’s other daughter is autistic. She is at the top of my daily prayer list. She has made almost imperceptible progress in her 6 years. She speaks very little and makes almost no normal human connections. My heart aches for her and my prayer is that she will soon begin to progress more normally. PLEASE remember little Kenzie in prayers as you think of her.
I will miss another grandson’s college graduation while I am away. He will be getting his bachelor's degree from Liberty University. (I haven’t yet mastered being in two places at once!) He is a great young man and is the son of my Son Danny and his wife Amy. He plans to be a policeman and is waiting to pass his exams soon.
Well, that about wraps it up for this month. Please pray that my breathing problems will at least allow me to do some gardening, housekeeping, etc. For now, keep looking UP! He is coming soon…maybe today?!
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (emeritus) Paul C. Fedena
