1984 – NOW?

In June of 1949 Mr. George Orwell wrote a very insightful, and perhaps prophetical book entitled “1984”. He wrote about a totalitarian government in a portion of the world called Oceania. It was led by a dictator named Big Brother. In this society there was almost total mind control and constant surveillance. Big Brother had intel on every citizen and controlled the movement of everyone. There were no more natural families, and total birth control along with mind control. People were under strict quarantine and constantly threatened with arrest if they went outside Oceania.
Orwell wrote his novel to warn the Western world of the powers of totalitarianism. WWII brought an end to Hitler’s complete control of an entire nation and almost the entire European continent. But it also opened the way to Stalin’s dictatorship in Russia and Mao-Tse-Tung’s communistic dictatorship of China. Now America is threatened with State control during the Corona Virus scare (scam?). Our Freedom documents are being violated by power hungry governors who have gotten a taste of near dictatorship restricting our movements (Stay Home!), travel bans, shutting down businesses, demanding “social distancing” (a new concept!) and even demanding that we wear masks in public places. We are told to stay indoors instead of being outdoors in the God-provided fresh air!
Unlike the Apostles and other Christian martyrs over the centuries who sought to “obey God rather than men” and only render unto Caesar the things the Govt. has a right to regulate, and only bow to God’s authority, we have been conditioned to capitulate to governmental power with little or no resistance. During this COVID-19 or Wuhan Virus lockdown we are denied access to public places unless we maintain 6 ft. between ourselves and others and are told we have to wear masks. (Masks have historically only been worn for nefarious purposes!) Highway signs dictated by Gov. Murphy (Big Brother?) in New Jersey remind us “Don’t be a knucklehead, keep a safe distance” (“knucklehead” is defined in the dictionary as “stupid person”). In NYC street signs have been redesigned to read “No Standing Anytime” and “No Socializing Anytime” and “New Road Layout for Social Distancing” etc.
One vocal preacher* wrote “the recent Coronavirus crisis may be the local, national, and global crisis that has been needed to quickly implement actions that will bring into PERMANENT play powers needed for the coming Antichrist. Almost overnight this crisis has brought us into a final transition into the powers of totalitarianism.” This preacher will no doubt be labeled an alarmist or a fanatic, but those are the epithets hurled at the Apostles, the Reformers and others who have spoken out against dictators and despots over the centuries. He also said “this crisis is making its way into our society, overthrowing our small businesses, producing massive unemployment…and now, the flow of ‘stimulus packages’ as a swirling river of free money is coming to us from Washington, DC through the democratic liberalism that has longed for such an hour in America.” I agree! Out of the chaos and confusion, our country is being rebuilt to become a socialistic nation.
Fear is being spread by liberal Dr. Anthony Fauci (who has not personally seen a patient in over 20 years!) who has contradicted himself again and again. (President Trump, what are you doing hanging around with and listening to this quack?!)
Finally, the greatest atrocity foisted upon believers by state and national leaders under the guise of safety and in opposition to our 1St Amendment rights, has been regarding the worship of our Savior. Churches and pastors and their people are being threatened with fines and imprisonment if we do not follow the guidelines (not laws!) by the swollen heads of our elected officials. How far are we willing to follow these wolves in sheep’s clothing who mock us and our Savior?
Americans, including believers, have already capitulated regarding so-called equality for homosexuals (called an abomination by God!), gender issues (“Mommy, I feel like a girl today.”), moral preferences (“If it feels good, do it.”), unisex hair and clothing styles. Many of our government officials are normal, even likeable people with great intellect, but are irrational in many areas. Could the reason be demon possession or at least demonic influence? (If you believe the Bible, you must believe in demons, principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness in high places!) Recently a court in Wash., D.C. overruled our Constitution involving the First Amendment and held that the right to forbid discrimination based on sexual preference was a hate crime. Even our language in private conversations is being controlled and labeled “hate speech”! Shades of Adolph Hitler!
*And yet, the super liberal and founder of Planned Parenthood and her followers advocate unrestrained sexuality even among teens and for sterilization and abortion. She even championed the sterilization of blacks, Jews, Southern Europeans, fundamentalist Christians, mental defectives and the relatives of mental defectives. Of course she doesn’t think she is the one who is mentally defective!! And on it goes.
