Greetings in His matchless Name!
“Happy Father’s Day”!
Well, here we are again. The Fedena’s are still on the road. Last Lord’s Day we were called to preach at the Race St. Baptist Church in Catasauqua, PA where our dear friend, Gary Freeman pastors. He has been in treatment for serious cancer for the last 10 years! (The Drs said that with his type of cancer the life expectancy was only 4 years, but the Great Physician had other plans for him.) He is not “out of the woods” and continues his treatments. He felt he couldn’t handle the services on the Lord’s Day well as he is just recovering from his last hospital go-round, so he called me on Saturday and it happened (coincidence?!) that I was not booked. We had good services and, as always, a super song service with his son, Jason, playing the gospel piano and singing several songs.
Our next meeting will be with Pastor Arthur Gilmore and his good folks in Easton, PA and we will be taking brother Jason Freeman with us for a great day of Gospel playing, singing and blessing. Pastor Gilmore is doing better, but his wife is limping along after knee surgery.
On the 4th of July weekend we will be in Rio Grande, NJ where my wife’s nephew, Jeff McLeod is the pastor. We are always delighted to be there and I will be preaching there that Wednesday evening. We will meet our longtime friends and college buddies, Evangelist Herb Brail and his dear wife Marge (from Chicago) in Cape May/Rio Grande for several days of relaxation and tract ministry on the “boards” in Wildwood and the promenade and walking mall in Cape May. Brother Brail is a Gospel Magician and we take his little bunny rabbit (“Mr. Toddles”) and/or his white dove (“Snow White”) to draw an audience. It is amazing to see how many people come to us (!) to see the animals and of course we hand each family a gospel tract. We have been doing this for several years and Pastor McLeod provides the tracts with his church info printed on the back. We give out hundreds to the crowds and most actually thank us!
We are looking forward to the Northeast Vision Conference again this year at Solid Rock Baptist Church and the great music and preaching and teaching there – as well as the good food and fellowship. If you are in reasonable driving distance, by all means come. In my opinion it is better than a Sword Conference or a Pastor’s School – and it is closer in distance and closer to my heart since I have had the privilege of teaching in their School of the Scriptures for many years. I really miss that ministry…
The excitement is building as we near the date when we move out of the hotel where our church meets in Princeton, NJ. Pastor Guarneri has much more patience than I do and seems to handle the many TWP roadblocks, building glitches and delays with great grace. We were supposed to be in the new building by Mother’s Day. Then we moved the date to the first part of May, and now it looks like we may have to wait till late June or early July. Things are nearly complete, but we still have TWP inspections, permits, etc. to endure. The building is looking good and everything inside is nearly completed. My son Dan is providing his services free-of-charge and has completed the audio/visual installation, security cameras, etc. saving our church a large sum of money. He was hurt on the job there and is looking at surgery next week on his foot. It will be a lengthy and painful recovery. He has done a great job and is very meticulous and exacting in whatever he does. We will have a top notch audio system and two 70 inch video screens for announcements, hymns, sermon outlines, etc. (I can’t wait to try out the screens for my visuals!)
I am completing a loooong verse-by-verse series through the exciting book of Revelation on Wednesday nights. Pastor Guarneri has been gracious giving up his Wed. nights for this ministry for many months. It is an in-depth study and we are nearing the finish line. This coming Wed. I will be in chapter 21 (verses 9-14) teaching a lesson I have entitled “SOME CALL IT HEAVEN, BUT I CALL IT HOME!”
Shirley has just finished up with her in-home re-hab under Medicare and has done pretty well overall. She still has trouble with balance and strength and at home uses a walker, but when we go out for meetings, etc. she is in a wheel chair. She is doing better with her oxygen and we now have a portable concentrator so we can again take overnight meetings. She is no longer eligible for surgery due to her age (maybe I shouldn’t have said that! But neither of us are “spring chickens” anymore). We praise the Lord for all the meals supplied by our family and church family. What a blessing!!!
Lastly, we are patiently (or impatiently) awaiting the restoration of our home after a water pipe breaking from our refrigerator ice-maker. We had a flood in every room except our bedrooms. All the wood flooring was damaged, along with carpet in the family room and our living room. We haven’t heard from the insurance company regarding the final estimate for repairs as yet – hopefully soon as the house is a mess at this point. Oh well, our real home is in heaven and it is complete and perfect. We are planning on moving there soon.
