Dear Praying Friends,
April 14, 2015
Greetings in His matchless Name!
Well it’s time to “render unto Caesar” (the IRS) again. Tomorrow is the deadline. Sorry for being late with this Fedena Flyer, but the good news is there is no penalty for being late since the IRS isn’t involved.
I will attempt to give you a quick update on what the Fedena’s are up to. First some good news. We have had to cancel or decline overnight preaching meetings due to Shirley being on oxygen 24/7. I had responded to a TV ad for a portable oxygen concentrator and when I called about it the man said it would cost twenty one ninety five. I said “That is a great price.” Then he said, “No sir, I mean $2,195.00!” That ended that. But a couple of weeks ago we were in meetings in the Delaware County Baptist Church for a Missions Conference where the pastor is Eddie Hall in Havertown, PA. Shirley couldn’t go with me on Sunday, she wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t want to drive back and forth for the evening service since the pastor said I could hang out in his home during the afternoon. So I left her alone in the morning. My daughter Crystal stayed with her after the AM service. On Monday morning Shirley was feeling better, but the oxygen was still a problem. She told me that morning that she was going to pray that God would supply the $2000.00 needed to get a portable oxygen concentrator. I had mentioned my response to the TV ad in the Sunday service. But someone there decided to help us, and so after the Monday evening service a lady came to my wife and handed her check for the entire amount!!! That is a quick answer to prayer! (So, if you have any prayer requests, call Shirley!! J) In any event we are rejoicing and praising the Lord. We now have the portable unit and can once again take overnight meetings or drive longer distances. The unit can be recharged while driving or plugged into an outlet in a motel, etc. PRAISE THE LORD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER!!!
Long story short – we are on the road again! HINT to preachers.
I am continuing my verse-by-verse series in Revelation every Wednesday night in our home church. I can’t believe my pastor (Louis Guarneri) is willing to step aside every Wednesday so I can teach. He is such a gracious and kind pastor. I am presently on the home stretch and tomorrow night I will begin the first 6 verses in Revelation 19 in a lesson entitled THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS. (Look up the passage and you will see why I called it that.)
Lord willing we will soon be in our new church building. As many of you know we are meeting in a Hotel conference room. The church has been there for 8 years! While we praise the Lord for supplying a meeting place, it will be nice to finally be in our own building. Barring any further delays we plan to move about mid-May. The pastor said he will have me teaching in Sunday School in the new building whenever I am in town. Shirley is presently playing the small keyboard for our services, but we need a permanent and steady pianist. We will have a real piano in the new building.
My son Dan has volunteered to install all the audio and video in the new building at no charge to the church. This will save the church a lot of $$$$$$$$. He is nearly finished his part of the job which includes two 70” LED TV screens, security video cameras, speakers, wiring, computers, etc.
The people in our church have been very generous and gracious in supply meals for us. They usually give cash to a former member of Faith Baptist Church, Mr. Frank Harper, who then purchases meals for us. As you know Shirley isn’t able to do much cooking and I haven’t learned and am too old to want to do so. (I CAN microwave some things!)
Shirley has made some progress physically, but it is minimal. She continues to presently receive in- home therapy. The Lord is keeping me pretty healthy overall, so I can do housework, care for her needs, etc. I will soon be 81 and I didn’t think I would be up to planting a garden again this year, but if we finally get some good weather, I will try. Yesterday we had a beautiful day so I cleaned and set up our screened in porch. I also didn’t think I would be able to go deep sea fishing this summer, but I may try again. Who knows?
We are looking forward to the Lord continuing to use us in whatever capacity possible as long as we can still get around. See you all here, there or in-the-air!
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Paul C. Fedena
