Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in His matchless Name!
Well, the New Year 2023 is upon us and the Lord alone knows what we will face…both trials and blessings! However, we have His promises to look forward to and one of them is His soon Return for the Church! AMEN!!!
While things “wax worse and worse” in this decaying world and even in our once singly blessed America, we, as believers have His Blessed Hope and promise that He will “never leave us nor forsake us.” ISN’T GOD GOOD?! (Have you praised Him recently for His grace?)
By His marvelous grace and longsuffering He still enables me to preach and teach His wonderful Word, in spite of my age (88 and counting…) and infirmities (more severe breathing issues, failing eyesight, worsening hearing, and more recently, balance issues). I covet your prayers for these issues. I continue to add regularly to
My Website
(www.pastorpaulfedena.weebly.com),
[thanks to my former asst. pastor, brother Rob Madden who served with me at Faith Baptist in Fairless Hills, PA],
I study daily, read as much as my eyesight will put up with, prepare new messages (and trust that the Lord will enable me to use them). My daily Bible reading and study continue to add new insights and my prayer life is richer these days and very specific.
Of course, I still miss my wife, companion, friend and assistant, Shirley, every day. (Thankfully she is in Heaven and no longer in pain, but it is very lonely in my home and life without her. As the Scripture reminds us, in Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD. He surely found the best for me!
If the Lord be pleased and He decides to prolong my life in 2023, my fervent prayer is that He will open doors of service and opportunities to continue preaching, teaching, passing out tracts, soul-winning and staying faithful to Him in the local church. Would you kindly join me in prayer for this desire?
Please allow me a fresh personal testimony. While pastoring in Fairless Hills, PA for 31 years we had a flourishing Bus Ministry and when shopping at Wal Mart two days ago, I asked an employee to help me locate a product and then passed a tract to her. Her reply was “Give this to someone who needs it, I am born again.” She then said “You are Pastor Fedena, aren’t you? I used to ride one of your Sunday School buses when just a young girl and got saved and you baptized me.” I didn’t recognize her until she gave me her maiden name. She then told me she got married and she and her husband faithfully serve the Lord and have raised a 19 year-old son. Praise the Lord for the Bus Ministry!
I don’t believe in “New Year’s Resolutions” – but I do believe in setting spiritual goals each year. This past year I decided to mark every verse in the Bible with either a + or a – sign designating the verse as either a positive or negative statement. I was surprised as to how many were actually negative statements. I have already begun to read slower and reread each passage in my personal time with the Lord each morning so I don’t miss the impact of each verse. My plan is to again read through the Bible in about the first six months of the New Year. I continue to add specific names and requests to my daily prayer list. Before beginning to pray each day I confess any sin(s). I do this because the priests in the Tabernacle and Temple washed their hands and feet before beginning their days service to the Lord to remove any dirt or defilement. We too need daily cleansing before approaching the Throne of Grace. What is YOUR plan?
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (emeritus) Paul C. Fedena
