Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in His matchless Name!
Since Shirley wrote last month’s Fedena Flyer for Mother’s Day, I thought I would write one for Father’s Day.
We have been keeping really, really busy. Not just “celebrating”my 80th Birthday with church friends and family and others, but with lots of meetings in different churches. Every Wednesday now I am teaching Revelation in our home church (Straightway –ya gotta luv it! – Baptist Church) for our Pastor and friend, Louis Guarneri. Whenever we are in town on the weekend we go soul-winning on Saturday with the church and attend the Sunday services there in Princeton, NJ in the Clarion Hotel on Rt. 1. We are anxiously awaiting final Twp. approval on our plans so we can go to the bank for our construction loan. They have offered an amazing low interest rate of 3.7%! The next step is construction. The building is completely empty (no walls or anything), so we don’t have to tear anything out, just reconstruction. This should reduce the construction time and we hope to be in our own building SOON! Please pray with us about this need. We recently got a free organ for the church and Shirley played it for the first time on Wed. night. (Thank you Mrs. Hunsinger from First Baptist in Easton, PA!)
On a sad note, our good pastor friend, Jon Rediger and his dear wife have suffered the loss of their 22 year old son in a boating accident last week. We have been praying for them and would ask you to do the same. We feel great empathy for them since we will soon be remembering our own son’s 7th year home going anniversary. We miss Dean so much and have many, many reminders all over our house and yard of things he gave to us, along with haunting pictures. If you haven’t seen the musical tribute to him on our website, please do so. It is www.pastorpaulfedena.weebly.com. (The song there, which has meant so much to us, is “It won’t rain always.”)
Shirley continues to battle PAIN daily and fell again yesterday. She has fallen numerous times without breaking anything (except furniture J!). I fear the day she may break a hip or leg… She continues to travel to all our meetings and almost never misses going along. (If it were me, I would probably just stay at home, suck my thumb and cry a lot!)
This Lord’s Day is Father’sDay and I have the privilege of preaching for Pastor Rick Wedemeyer near
Tom’s River, NJ. Then I will preach in a brand new church in Vineland, NJ for Pastor Tim Ravert. The following week my niece’s daughter will be getting married in Wilmington, DE. and that is a priority. The next two weeks I will be doing a prophecy series in a church that Pastor Anthony Garrisis affiliated with. And so it goes.
I have recently preached twice at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lehighton, PA in the Poconos for Pastor Marshall Wolverton. Good meetings! I call that church “The Miracle On A Mountain”since it is not near a lot of homes and sits up high on a back road. They average about 300 on Sunday mornings with healthy evening attendances as well. We preached for Pastor Eddie Hall for his faith promise missions endeavor two weeks ago at the Del. County Baptist Church with good results. (He called to say that they would meet their missions budget.) Then last Lord’s day I preached the graduation at Valley Baptist in Coatesville, PA where Kevin Cavanaugh is the new pastor, replacing his father-in-law, Pastor Sal Yannizzi, who has moved to Florida.
This just in! Pastor David Cashman has resigned Faith Baptist Church after about 12 years there. I have 31 years of my life invested in that God blessed ministry and Iam praying that the devil and his cohorts will not get their foot in the door in the absence of a pastor. The sheep often scatter when there is no shepherd. I am also praying that God will send HIS MAN there to be the new pastor.
I want to thank everyone who sent cards and gifts for my 80th. I guess 80 is milestone number (it feels more like a millstone!! L!) since I have received so many cards, etc. I especially enjoyed hearing from some I had lost contact with over the years. FYI – I don’t do FACEBOOK but someone showed me that many friends there sent their best wishes as well. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Talk about voices out of my past! (You can always call me or write me on e-mail or snail mail and Shirley and I would like to hear from you.)
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Paul C. Fedena
