Greetings in His matchless Name!
Well it is almost 2 months since my last CyberKnife high intensity radiation treatments and although I have a few lingering side-effects I was able to preach yesterday with the only the symptom of a very dry mouth due to medication. In the last two months there were a number of times I thought my teaching and preaching ministry was over. It was a very difficult time. I was so weak I didn't even have the strength or ambition to read. I was totally "washed out."
I have been out-of-action for over 6 weeks and it has taken a large toll on our finances. But yesterday I preached at the Lighthouse Baptist Church which I call "the Miracle on a Mountain" church where Marshall Wolverton is the great pastor. This is a very lively church with exciting music and sound doctrinal preaching and teaching. The morning service was packed out and there was a good return on Sunday night without the busses. The invitation was great on Sunday night and about 85-90% of the church was at the altar. What a blessing. Thank you to each of you who have remembered me and Shirley in prayer. It is continuing to work.
Another answered prayer - Shirley was able to drive from our house to this church in the Poconos and back. This is the first time she has been behind the wheel in two years! Praise the Lord. She has been my trusted "chauferette" for many years. She did a great job.
I will be conducting a workshop this Wednesday at the Solid Rock Baptist Church's Northeast Vision Conference. Then I will head to Rio Grande, NJ where I will teach S.S. and preach both services, on the Lord's Day, D.V. Pastor McLeod and his great family will be in California for a family wedding. I am always excited to go there because the folks at Rio Grande Bible Baptist Church are like family to us. They spoil us rotten!
When I was able to do some work during my recovery I created a couple more messages on the much neglected subject of Heaven. I am chomping at the bit to preach these messages! I believe they will be transformative in the lives of those who hear them. The Holy Spirit has ignited a "fire in my bones" to get these messages preached. I am pumped (perhaps "filled" would be a better term)! Few Christians, I believe, know very little of what the Bible really teaches on this subject. For example: Where is "Heaven"? What will you be like when you get there? Will you have a body between your death and the Rapture? Where will you live? What will you do for eternity? Will everyone be equal in Heaven (I didn't say perfect). What will the environment be like? Are there animals there? What will the New Heaven and New Earth be like? Will you eat, play, work? etc., etc. etc.
I am also updating some of my material on the subject of Creation. I am hoping to get several Creation Conference meetings in the fall/winter months (Sun. - Wed. or Wed. - Sun.).
I have been preparing a new series on the Gifts of the Spirit for Solid Rock School of the Scriptures in the fall. I so enjoy teaching there, in spite of all the driving. The students are so faithful and eager to learn. What a blessing. It is the best local church Bible Institute I know of. This will be the 17th productive year and I have been there from its outset. I am not sure whether I have taught every semester or not. Senility, I guess. :)
A preacher friend of mine for many years, Dr. Larry Hummel, is planting a brand new church in Sumter, SC. Please pray for this baby church. Continue to pray for Dr. Steve Hays for a complete healing or total remission from Myasethnia Gravis, and for Dr. George Riddell, Sr. that he will have no infections after his recent surgery. And, if you can fit us in, ask the Lord to continue to use us. Thank you so much for being our friends.
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Paul C. Fedena
