WHEN THE DUST HAS SETTLED
(Life In Eternity)
TEXT:
Revelation 21
Revelation 22
1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
INTRO: The Bible makes it clear that when all the dust is settled, there’s only going to be three places of existence:
✔ Every soul created will reside in one of these places!
✔ What you believe will not change this truth!
✔ Throughout eternity you will either live in....
💥misery and pain, or 😊glory and bliss!
At the end of the millennium:
Thus, we find ourselves (the bride of Christ) in the New Jerusalem, hovering above the New Earth, probably over the enlarged and rebuilt Jerusalem, along with expanded Temple. (Ezek. 40-48) Which, no doubt is on an enlarged Earth to accommodate all those who received Christ during the 1,000-year millennium.
Yes, that will possibly put the population into the quadrillions! So, all of those, who have never been resurrected, will continue to reproduce as eternity rolls on. Nowhere in Scripture is there a Resurrection for Millennial Saints - Matthew 25:31-46
This continues God’s original plan of perpetual generations of humans.
Note in Rev. 22:5 – “and they shall reign for ever and ever.” We the bride of Christ, O.T., Church Age, & Martyred Trib. Saints, will be Kings, Priests, and Rulers in the Eternal Kingdom. As God’s Kingdom expands for all eternity, our jobs will become massive! Therefore, we will be in glorified bodies, like unto Christ’s and the Angels. Our power, responsibilities will be limitless. We will rule and reign over a new earth of eternal peoples.

At the end of the millennium:
- Satan will be released…
- Gather the wicked against God and the saints…
- The devil and all Christ rejectors will be judged (Great White Throne) and cast into the lake of fire, to suffer and burn for eternity!

If a married couple are saved and survive the Tribulation period, and have a minimum of 10 children every hundred years...
Here's the amount by the end of the millennial kingdom:
Wow, that's a minimum of 10 billion+ offspring, from just one couple. Imagine the population if all the other couples have the same amount? The population would be in the quadrillions at the end of the millennium.
Then eternity begins, and we will be quite busy. 😊 - Rev. 22:5
Here's the amount by the end of the millennial kingdom:
- 100 Years = 10 ppl.
- 200 Years = 100 ppl.
- 300 Years = 1,000 ppl.
- 400 Years = 10,000 ppl.
- 500 Years = 100,000 ppl.
- 600 Years = 1,000,000 ppl.
- 700 Years = 10,000,000 ppl.
- 800 Years = 100,000,000 ppl.

➖ SO WHEN THE DUST HAS SETTLED ➖
✨ We are going to reign with Him for eternity in the Holy City there must be people to reign over. This should make it clear that not all alive in eternity will live in the Holy City.
✨ The mystery we need to solve is whom do the people in the Holy City reign over?
💥It cannot be those cast into the Lake of Fire, because scripture says that they will not even come to mind anymore.
💥It cannot be Israel because the whole commonwealth of Israel are those that reign with Jesus.
✨ This allows for only one possibility: We reign over the children of God born after the bride of Christ marries Jesus.

✨The nations are clearly distinguished from the resurrected saints for they dwell in the New Jerusalem - Rev 22:3-5, Hebrews 11:10; Hebrews 12:22, Galatians 4:26. It is the great truth of Classic Dispensationalism that the Church is an heavenly not an earthly people. Of the nations we are told in Rev 21:24:
✨Nowhere in Scripture is there a Resurrection for Millennial Saints - Matthew 25:31-46

LECTURE FIFTIETH
Rev: 22:1-5
Two classes of people are thus distinctly recognized in the new heaven and earth; — a class in glory who get the fruits of the Tree of Life, and a class in the estate of “nations” who get the leaves; but, whether fruits or leaves, a great and glorious blessing. As there will always be need for the ministrations of these celestial king-priests to those dwelling on the earth so will those ministrations also bring them the healing leaves from the Tree of Life. As the Life-waters are not wholly shut up in the city, but descend in a form to men on the earth; so the Life-tree, in a form, yields its benefits to them too. The meaning is not that the nations are full of sicknesses and ailments; for these remains of the curse are gone then, though it may be from the virtue of these leaves. The meaning rather is the preservation of health and comfort, and not that maladies then exist to be removed. The Life-leaves are for the conservation and augmentation of Life-blessedness of men on earth, as the Life-fruits are for the joy of the saints in heaven. “And they shall reign to the ages of the ages.” Not for the thousand years only, but forever shall their glory and dominion last. This tells at once their eternal dignity, and the eternal perpetuity of men in the flesh. If they are to be kings forever, they must have subjects forever; and their subjects, whom they shepardize, over whom they rule, and for whom they hold the dominion, are everywhere described as “the nations “— “all people, languages, and nations under the whole heaven.” (Revelation 2:26; 12:5; 22:1; 24:26; Daniel 7:14, 27; Matthew 19:28, 29; 1 Corinthians 6:2.) Either, then, their kingdom must come to an end for want of subjects, or nations, peoples, and men on the earth must continue in the flesh, as Adam and Eve before the fall. But these glorified ones are to “reign to the ages of the ages,” and their “kingdom is an everlasting kingdom;” and as they cannot reign without subjects, so nations on earth must last coequally with their regency. Both their office, and the activities in which their sublimest happiness is located, must fail them, if the nations over whom their rule is, ever cease to be. They neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for they are as the angels of God; but their subjects are of a different order, and their dominion and glory shall grow forever, by the ceaseless augmentation of the number of their subjects throughout unending generations.
William R Newell com on Revelation 21:3
We know positively that at least one nation and one seed, ISRAEL, will belong upon the new earth. In Isaiah 66:22 we read, “As the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith Jehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.” This is eternity for national Israel, and no escaping it! Because Isaiah 65:17, 18, which belongs to the new creation, has been confused with the millennial verses (20-25) men have rushed to the conclusion that all that Isaiah says concerning the new creation is millennial. But God says Israel’s “seed and name” shall remain, in the new heavens and earth, that is, in that new order beginning in Revelation 21:1. But in this new order, we are distinctly told “death shall be no more,” whereas, in Isaiah 65:20, “the child shall die a hundred years old.”
Now, Israel is God’s elect nation—elect not for the past, or even through the millennial age, but forever. Yet, if Israel be the elect nation, the existence of other nations is presupposed!
The Saints Reign Charles L Feinberg
Revelation 22:5 and they shall reign forever and ever.
The millennial reign and the Eternal reign are United. Saints will never cease to rain as long as there will be subjects. (Romans 5:17) Why do earthly reigns come to an end? They are terminated either by injustices, fraud, ineptitude, or by death. None of these will be present when Christ the King reigns with his bride. Why then should not the millennial phase of his reign merge into the eternal phase? Verily it will!
Dr. W. A. Criswell - What I Believe About Heaven: The Pageantry - June 17th, 1990 @ 10:50 AM
I speak now of the Biblical revelation of the continuity of life, that it continues. When the shadow of this life is over, the real life begins there, over yonder. There is progress in the pursuit of the purpose of God for us in the rich meaning of life on a higher level. What we have begun on earth, we shall consummate in heaven.
Rev. 22:1-5
There are two classes of people who will live eternally upon the earth: (1) the saints, who as co-heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17) are given glorified bodies (1 Cor. 15:52), who possess the kingdom (Dan. 7:18) and rule over the kingdom (Rev. 20:4, Rev. 20:6) as its inheritors (Matt. 25:34); (2) natural people, described here [1 Cor. 15:52] as “flesh and blood” who are the eternal subjects of the kingdom, who eternally perpetuate the natural race of earthly men in the flesh (Psa. 72:5; Isa. 59:21; Ezek. 37:25; Luke 1:32-33. 2 Pet. 3:13).
Rev. 21:24
the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor into it
This had already been the experience of the earthly Jerusalem during the Millennial Kingdom (Isa. 60:3-12; 66:12). Here is evidence that “heaven” will be much different than is commonly conceived. These kings are of the earth: having their primary place of activity upon the earth rather than within the city. They bring their glory from outside the city into (εἰς [eis]) it. The glory and honor of the kings probably describes gifts of value and beauty which are brought as presents of worship to God and the Lamb in the midst of the city.
Some have seen this as evidence of two categories of the faithful: those who reside within the city (glorified saints) and those who reside outside the city on the earth (those left living at the end of the Millennial Kingdom). Those nations, during the Millennium, that walk in the Divine light of the earthly Jerusalem, are transferred to the new earth, to walk in the Heavenly light of the New Jerusalem.77
Is there any way, however, that these could be nations of people still in a natural state (say, like Adam and Eve before the fall) continuing over from the millennium? . . . Admittedly, however, the Scriptures do not deal with this particular subject directly . . . one must certainly be tentative on this point, that this particular group of saints, some from each millennial nation, may have been (like Enoch and Elijah long before) translated to the heavenly Jerusalem still in the flesh. In such a hypothetical situation, they would then be in that state in the city when it descended to the earth. . . . This interpretation of this text, doubtful and fraught with difficulties though it may be, would help in answering certain other questions.
I . . . hold it to be a necessary and integral part of the Scriptural doctrine of human redemption, that our race, as a self-multiplying order of beings, will never cease either to exist or to possess the earth. . . . Ransomed nations in the flesh are therefore among the occupants of the new earth, and the blessed and happy dwellers in it, as Adam and Eve dwelt in Paradise.
This is an issue on which the text of Revelation is silent, but there is one . . . theory which seems to satisfy the available criteria best. . . . This opinion holds that “the nations” are composed of saved people who survive the millennial kingdom without dying and without joining Satan’s rebellion and who undergo some sort of transformation that suits them for life in the eternal state. They will be like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden prior to the Fall (cf. Govett, Seiss). They will be un-resurrected human beings who will inhabit the new earth, Paradise restored (Rev. 22:1-5), throughout eternity.
Shall not God then during the “Renovation of the Earth by Fire,” in some manner, not as yet revealed, take off righteous representatives of the Millennial nations that he purposes to save, and when the earth is again fit to be the abode of men, place them back on the New Earth, that they may increase and multiply and replenish it, as Adam (Gen. 1:27-28), and Noah (Gen. 9:1), were told to multiply and replenish the present earth.
The City Of Perpetual Blessing:
(Commentary on Revelation By Dr. Paul Fedena - CLICK)
1. Outside the City the “nations” and “kings” reside, but since only the redeemed survive the Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the Millennium, the question is who are these people?
2. Perhaps they are those who have mansions in the city, but have estates and governments and activities outside the city.
3. Perhaps they are humans in an innocent state like Adam before the fall continuing on the earth after the Millennium (if so they would have had to have been “raptured” off the planet before it was purged by fire, and glorified ).
4. This would place a very literal interpretation on the Abrahamic Covenant which promised that his seed would be as the sand upon the seashore and the stars in the heavens.
5. It would also help us envision the fulfillment of the Messianic promise in Isaiah 9:7 that “of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end.”
6. Also, if the nations of the saved were to continue to multiply, as would Adam and Eve, if they had not fallen, God’s command to “fill the earth” and “subdue it” would be finally accomplished.
7. Think of the productivity and promise of the planet where sin has been banished forever and where the nations can develop and expand infinitely.
8. Neither the kings of the earth nor the nations will seek their own glory, but “bring their glory and honor” into the city to the Lord of Glory!
(This is one of the Greatest Mysteries of Bible Prophecy)
Robert Thomas’ “Who are the ‘nations’ and ‘kings’ of Rev. 21:24, 26?”)
There is one further theory which seems to satisfy the available criteria best. This opinion holds that ‘the nations’ are composed of saved people who survive the millennial kingdom without dying and without joining Satan’s rebellion and who undergo some sort of transformation that suits them for life in the eternal state. They will be like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden prior to the Fall (cf. Govett, Seiss). They will be unresurrected human beings who will inhabit the new earth, Paradise restored (22:1-5), throughout eternity. These will be the ones over whom God’s resurrected saints will reign (22:5). Nations, peoples, and men on earth must continue in the flesh as Adam and Eve did before the Fall (Seiss).” Robert L. Thomas, Revelation 8-22, pg. 476-78
Some proponents of the eternal kingdom view suggest the “nations” and “kings” of Rev. 21:24-26 are people who survive the Millennium without dying and were transformed and given immortal, but not glorified, bodies to inhabit the earth throughout eternity.
Alva McClain, The Greatness of the Kingdom, pg. 216
“The reconciliation of the ‘many days’ with the idea of ‘everlasting’ will be found in the fact that, at the close of human history, the Mediatorial Kingdom of our Lord will be merged into the Universal Kingdom and thus perpetuated forever (1 Corinthians 15:24-28).”
Alford's Greek Testament Critical Exegetical Commentary - Revelation 21Among the mysteries of this new heaven and new earth this is set forth to us: that, besides the glorified church, there shall still be dwelling on the renewed earth nations, organized under kings, and (ch. Rev 22:2 ) saved by means of the influences of the heavenly city). And there shall never enter into her, every thing unclean, and working abomination and falsehood, but only (lit. except) they that are written in the book of life of the Lamb (if then the kings of the earth, and the nations, bring their glory and their treasures into her, and if none shall ever enter into her that is not written in the book of life, it follows, that these kings, and these nations, are written in the book of life. And so perhaps some light may be thrown on one of the darkest mysteries of redemption. There may be, I say it with all diffidence, those who have been saved by Christ without ever forming a part of his visible organized Church).
