Greetings in His matchless Name!
Hello, there! Or, Hi y’all (I was visiting down south in Florida recently). I had a great time with my kids, grands and great grands! The weather was perfect for the 2 weeks I was in the Pensacola area. My grandson, Paul Lefevers, gave me a tour of the campus again to show me the upgrades at Pensacola Christian College. It is beautiful. He now works on the grounds and oversees about 100 other employees. His wife, Sarah, works for Pensacola Christian Academy and they love her there. Their oldest, Amelia will be graduating in May from PCA, and headed to college. My other grandson, Jason wanted to take me fishing in his boat, but the one day he could do so, it rained and the wind was up. This is the first year in my memory that I did not go salt water fishing. My daughter, Crystal is a great cook and she knows all my favorite foods and she and her husband Jerry were gracious hosts to me in their lovely home. The whole clan showed up a couple nights at their home so we had a great reunion time. They are all very active and involved in good local churches in their area.
Then, for Christmas week, my granddaughter Stephanie and her husband Andrew Sims, along with their 3 beautiful daughters (Kenzie who is autistic, Hannah and Ariana) visited and stayed with me for that week. It was great seeing them again and spending time together. Since then, Stephanie has had serious surgery and is slowly recovering with a lot of pain. My daughter and a former member when I was at Faith Baptist Church as pastor for 31 years, came down from Georgia to help out with Stephanie and the girls and my daughter Crystal. Her name is Sandy Waters. (Talk about a “good works” ministry!)
My other daughter, Dawn, now lives in W. Palm Beach and I missed seeing her and 2 of my other grandchildren, Westley and Allie. The one son who lives near to me in Fairless Hills, PA, Dan, and his dear wife Amy and their two great children, Dylan and Taylor are a great blessing to me. They help me so much. The family often includes me in some of their family activities. Amy provides about 2 meals each week for me (I don’t cook and am too old or too stubborn, or stupid, to learn at 88!). Those 2 meals usually provide about 4 weeklies with leftovers. A couple of the ladies at my home church, Straightway Baptist in Lawrence, NJ, (Pastor Louis Guarneri) also provide occasional meals to keep me fed. A member at Faith Baptist, Mrs. Olga Stafanuk and her daughter Sofia (Ukrainians! Amen!), come monthly to clean my house. (Please pray for the Ukrainian people and their homeland.)
I am having my usual breathing issues, but my Pacemaker seems to keep my heart ticking. I am really feeling my age and each day presents new health challenges. I am having great difficulty swallowing my daily handful of meds and vitamins. I choke on them. Recently, with the upcoming 4 year (March 29th) homegoing anniversary of my dear wife, Shirley, I have become very emotional. Almost daily I am having an emotional episode. It doesn’t last long, but it can come at any time (?). I tire very easily, and I am veeery lonely.
Praise the Lord, I am still doing some preaching and teaching and I seem mentally alert and I have not noticed any memory lapses in the pulpit. I hope no one else has either. My schedule is sparce since COVID and I have lost some support and with fewer meetings I have to be more careful about expenditures. But God and His people are so good to me. I have no complaints about the way he takes care of my needs. I especially appreciate those who pray for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH IF YOU ARE ON THAT LIST!!!
Well, “that’s the way it is” for this Fedena Flyer. I know it was very personal and I trust you were not too bored. Thanks for being a blessing to this OLD man! Keep looking UP for our redemption draweth nigh!
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Fedena
