Greetings in His matchless Name!
Well, hello there! I am back again to “bug” you. Hope you don’t mind. (If you do mind, you can - 1) get over it, 2) throw this in the trash, or 3) use it to wrap your garbage in. ☺ )
CHURCH NEWS: We are still on the road teaching and preaching wherever and whenever the Lord opens the doors. My pastor (Louis Guarneri) shares his pulpit with me when I am in town each Sunday night. I also teach an adult Sunday School Class each week at Straightway Baptist (Ya gotta luv that name!). . It is a very multi-cultural church and we enjoy fellowship with all the folks. We are really happy at Straightway and our pastor knows the Bible and we are excited to go to every service.
Our meeting schedule has slowed down considerably, but this weekend we will be teaching and preaching in a Prophecy Conference for Pastor Kurt LaCapruccia at the Keystone Ind. Baptist Church in East Greenville, PA. I will be speaking three or four times along with another preacher and the pastor.
PERSONAL: My health is remarkably good for an 81 year old, I think. I still go fishing, do garden work (groan), preach, study, read and preach and teach where ever God opens the doors. I keep busy every day. (Whatever happened to taking a day off every Monday?) I just got over a 6 week (!) bout with Vertigo! No fun at all.
Of course I have to do all the housework and take care of preparing meals (usually just heating up a meal that our kids, our granddaughter Stephanie or someone from church has donated – praise the Lord! I don’t cook much and don’t want to learn, or am just too stubborn or too old!), and taking care of Shirley, preparing her meds, carting her walker and wheelchair wherever we go, showering her, etc., etc.
Shirley has been in agony with leg and knee pain (on top of her polymyalgia!) due to a severe case of arthritis. We went to the Dr. today and he recommended another knee replacement. We are praying about that. Her surgery on the other knee didn’t do well, but she can barely even walk around the house at this point. Her condition has demanded that we be very creative in traveling, and doing just the normal day-to-day things we used to take for granted. It also keeps us from “vacations” and other activities.
It is difficult for her to even get into our car. She had lost her ability to play the piano for a while and we thought that would be permanent. However, she now plays for all the services once again. We refuse to allow her health issues to keep us from being faithful to church, meetings, etc. Please pray for both of us old fogies whenever you think of us – like right now! ☺
PRAYER REQUESTS: See above, plus…
Ask our Savior to keep us busy doing what He called us to do many years ago. (Preachers, please note. Better hurry and book us for a meeting, it may be your last chance! I am soon to be 82!)
Pray for God’s will concerning possible surgery for Shirley. We want to make the right decision. She is no spring chicken either.
Pray for our dear friends Evangelist Herb & Marge Brail. Marge recently had open heart surgery (a quadruple bypass) and isn’t bouncing back as quickly as they had hoped. He has already cancelled his June VBS schedule, but is still hoping to finish out this summer’s itinerary.
Pray too for another friend and his wife. They are now retired from the pastoral ministry and are facing both health and financial issues. They are Pastor (e) and Mrs. Carl and Beverly LoTurco. They live in Oregon and miss the ministry a great deal.
Another couple - still in the ministry – are struggling with his severe health issues: Dr. & Mrs. Steve & Cindy Hays. They pastor the Eastern Shore Bible Baptist Church in Galena MD. Every day is a battle with Myasthenia Gravis, strokes, treatments, etc.
Many years ago I pastored in Glen Burnie, MD and one of my deacons (who later became a pastor), Mr. George Wallring is now in his 90’s and his wife has been suffering with Alzheimer’s for several years. Every day is a struggle for them. They live in Greenville, S.C .
Finally we would ask you to pray for the Worthington family. They were faithful in my ministry in Fairless Hills, PA for a number of years. Last Saturday Mr. Edward Worthington, Sr. suddenly lost his dear wife and his son lost his 22 year old son just two weeks before that. Thank the Lord, both his wife and grandson were saved.
I know you have your own lengthy prayer list, but if you just pray one time for the above requests when you receive this letter, it will be a blessing.
Well, that’s about it for this volume. Thanks for listening to my ramblings. “Brethren, pray for us…”
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Paul C. Fedena
