FEDENA FLYER FOR - JAN. 2015
Greetings in His matchless Name!
Hope you are all O.K. after the “storm of the century” never happened! ☺ Will anyone ever trust the weather prognosticators again? Oh well, as for me, I am happy because I am not a snow lover. What we did get was enough to shovel.
On the health side, Shirley is experiencing a new bout with pain. She was unable to go to Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Willingboro (Pastor Aaron McCullough) with me last Lord’s Day where I preached in all the services. She rarely misses church, but her pain was too great. The next day she had some relief, but it came back with a vengeance on Tuesday. I am her full time caregiver at this point and she is dependent on me from morning to night. (Sometimes it is a looooong day! ☹) But of course this is a part of my “reasonable service” towards the wonderful woman I married. She has always supported me in every decision I have made, and I am doing my best now to live up to my marriage vows, which included the words “in sickness and in health.” Tomorrow (Friday Jan. 30th ) we will celebrate 55 years of marriage. A real milestone of what has been a great opportunity to serve the Lord together. Without Shirley and her cooperation and commitment, I would not have been successful in the ministry God called me to.
She is beginning to get back to some minor chores in the house, thanks to two rehab people who come to our home each week. She can load the washer and dryer and fold clothes, and put some clothing away. She still needs help showering and with any other activity. I have to help her in and out of the car and into the wheelchair. She has a tough time remembering what day of the week it is and in using the computer. She continues to attempt to play the organ at church and she needs some practice at home (my son Dan has loaned us a keyboard).
At present Shirley has to be on oxygen 24/7 and I am trying to work something out so we can take enough oxygen with us to be able to take meetings which demand an overnight stay. We are hoping to get a portable unit of some kind which will not be too expensive. I am still taking meetings but it would be so much easier without the oxygen problem. If you think about us, please pray specifically that the Lord will work something out.
My health at this point is very good. The only problem I am presently experiencing is a tooth ache and that will require (another) root canal. Ugh! Made the appointment today.
Through a program on the internet set up by my daughter Dawn, and grand daughter Stephanie, called Meal Train, my family, folks from our home church, Harbor Baptist (Pastor Dennis Higgins) and YOU have signed up for this ministry, and it has really helped me and Shirley. (I don't cook and don't want to learn!!! Or maybe I am just too old!) In any event it has been a tremendous help and blessing. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I can still preach and teach and am presently teaching verse-by-verse through the book of Revelation due to the generosity of our home church in Princeton, NJ and our Pastor, Louis Guarneri. We are more than half way through the book at this point and I am enjoying it a great deal. I hope the folks at church are as well! The attendance last Wednesday night was up and our Pastor is always supportive and I hope he doesn’t regret turning over his Prayer Meetings to me for such a long period of time.
Our new building is coming along nicely and we are planning to dedicate it on Easter Sunday. It has been good to be able to meet in the Clarion Hotel, but it will be so much better to have our own building. Brother Joe Kaiser is our general contractor, from Solid Rock Baptist Church and Northeast Vision. The setting up and taking down for each service will no longer be required, but the good folks at Straightway are so helpful with this. My son Dan is doing all the wiring for the audio and visual throughout the building, at no charge. We have recently received a grant of $30,000, for which we are praising the Lord. Our pastor is a good steward and while not being extreme we will have a very comfortable facility.
Well, that’s about it for this time. Once again THANK YOU so much for all you do for us, and THANK YOU for your prayers, especially.
Sincerely in the Savior,
Pastor (e) Paul C. Fedena
