Dear Praying Friends,
Greetings in His matchless Name!
I am now in day 5 after my final Cyber Knife radiation treatments. I don’t glow in the dark, but the side effects are not fun! According to the Dr. they should begin to diminish in a few days. Whew! If I can last that long. The prognosis is that they “got it all” – but that can only be confirmed months from now with PSA’s, exams and another biopsy.
Shirley continues to improve after three looooong years of constant pain. She is still not pain free, but much better than the past. She has lost lots of weight and looks good. She is trying to walk daily with her walker and has even used her scooter to go to Wal-Mart a few blocks from our home – all on her own.
I am using my “down time” to study a new Henry Morris (ICR) Study Bible I purchased. I am using it for devotions and studying the notes which are generally excellent. I bought it to balance out my other study materials in the Scofield Reference Study Bible and the Ruckman Study Bible (gasp!). Ruckman’s take is surely different, but his cross references are extremely helpful. He knows the Bible, and is especially good at prophetic passages. His appendices are interesting to say the least. I have completed going through the Bible, his notes and comments and many were a help. Lots of laughs along the way as a bonus. I have used the Defender’s Study Bible as well (ICR) and found the notes there helpful and devotional as well as scientific. But the Morris Bible is more like a commentary on the Scriptures along with the text. I really am enjoying it.
I enjoy the Kindle my kids bought for me for Christmas and have many Christian books and WWII books downloaded. I was raised during the war and am fascinated about that period. The book on the concentration camps, especially Auschwitz, is stomach turning to say the least. Oh the depravity of the unsaved man! Incredible! If you have not read “Unbroken” – another WWII story with a wonderful outcome, get it. I also recommend “The Devil in Pew #7” – a true story of a preacher written by a P.K. daughter. Wow! You will be amazed.
The Lord is so good to this old preacher. I have a light schedule presently – praise the Lord – which is a blessing due to the cancer treatment after effects. But I will soon be back on the road. Please try to add us to your prayer list as the Lord brings us to your mind.

Sincerely in the Savior,
